Team History

Gutzy Tri Team was launched by Jamie Whitmore, one of XTERRA’s most winning-est pro’s ever with 37 career victories. She has won XTERRA USA, European, and World Championship titles. In addition, she has multiple victories in the Mountain Bike Pro Circuit.

With such a successful career, it came as a shock when Jamie was struck with cancer at the age of 31. She was told by doctors that she would not be able to ride a bike again. Not only has Jamie returned to biking, but she has become a member of the USA Paralympic Cycling Team. In addition to winning the C3 para-cycling road race and time trial National titles, she is the current World Champion and World Record Holder in the C3 500 Time Trial and 3K Pursuit. Jamie also completed the infamous Leadville 100mi Mountain Bike Race in under 12 hours and has won several full XTERRA off-road triathlons in the Challenged Athlete division.

Jamie has made it her mission to give back to her community and show people that they too can overcome challenges and reach their goals. She is the dedicated head coach of the Gutzy Tri Team.
