About

We represent and
welcome all ages and
walks of life. If you
want these things –
to race, to give, to
have fun – then you
are well on your way
to becoming a Gutzy!

Born and bred out of Jamie Whitmore’s dedication, perseverance,
and determination, Gutzy Tri Girl started her career as a pro athlete
in XTERRA and Triathlon. After losing the use of her lower leg to
cancer, Jamie launched the Gutzy Tri Team. It has since evolved from
a novice seasonal training class to a premier year-around coaching
program. Under Jamie’s experienced coaching, the team trains and
supports each other through races across the region – Wildflower,
Donner, Auburn, and Vineman to name a few.

As our athletes and team mature, we are a constant and indomitable
presence wherever we go, whether cheering on fellow athletes at
the finish line or claiming podium spots.

Gutzy’s strive to connect with others in
our endeavor to give back to the
community. The team has rallied local
businesses to donate money and services
benefiting CAF (the Challenged Athletes
Foundation) and the John Wayne Cancer
Foundation. Additionally, Gutzy’s lead food
and gift drives to aid underprivileged
families and those in need in our
communities.

But through it all, Gutzy’s know how to
have fun. You may have seen some of our
family racing big wheels in Folsom,
mountain biking in the foothills, and riding
SUP and BBQ’ing at Lake Natoma.
